Dear Dreamer,
I committed 14 years of my life to pre-professional ballet training. But I couldn't keep myself in that box. I loved more than just the graceful and emotional movement. My passion was simply in creating. Stopping myself from creating things outside of my movement was a suffocating cage. Passion grew within origami, painting, drawing, sculpting, makeup, nail art, costuming, fashion, and so much more.
Though perfection was once placed as my only end goal, I now know that it is not real. Why chase rainbows, when I could simply make my own.
Wearable art has no restrictions on your identity. You can be a goddess, royalty, the fae, a star, a dreamer, and so much more. But of course, I can't stop there.
I realize that humans have quickly traveled into fast fashion, a part of the textile industry that is destroying the earth. While no one wants to be trapped wearing the same garments they've had since they were little, we can't let trends dictate our money and produce unnecessary waste.
As a self-proclaimed "fairy godmother", I happily take donated dresses, carefully thrifted dresses and the like-- upcycling them into completely new gowns. I hope to give them a new life so that others can step forward in their fantasy worlds without worry. Whether it be for an event, cosplaying, a wardrobe revamp, grocery shopping, or just wanting something beautiful: Libelle Falu aims to transform the pre-loved and take it to a whole new level.
Creativity is a great tree and I am just one of its many leaves. Let my creations open your eyes to my inspirations, ideas, visions, and whatnot. I invite you to journey into my world, even just for a little.
Best Wishes,
Emma Meeks

"Dedicated to true upcycling, old dance costumes and dresses from friends and family members are used for new creations. Thus, old dresses of your own may be sent in for a custom order"
"Libelle Falu roughly means "Dragonfly Red." Libelle is a German for dragonfly, and falu is the red color on most barns. My nickname as a kid was Dragonfly, and red has always been an important color in my life."
"Nothing is still a something. Even when you have nothing, nothing is still something you can work with; a challenge of course, but not impossible."
"Libelle Falu officially took off in January 2021, but started taking form in March 2020. Simply put, I can't be put in a box. As much as I love dance, I cannot live without every form of art in my life."
